Please keep the family histories coming for the 2012 History Book! The can be dropped off at the Town Office or emailed to rossburnhistory@gmail.com. Word format, for those computer literates, is preferred.
Haven't submitted your family story yet because you're not sure what we want?
Guidlines on how to write a Family History:
- Family name (ie. The John Smith Family)
- Grandparents - both Mother's and Father's side - dates and place of birth, year of mariage if known.
- Your parents - dates and place of birth, year of mariage if known.
- Your siblings (with order of birth from oldest to youngest and where you fit into the family) Please mention year of birth.
- Your mariage (wife's maiden name) and your wife's/husband's occupation, where you have lived, your children, their birth date, marriage and occupation, grandchildren and years of birth.
For more information, if not sure, contact any member of the History Book Committee.
We look forward to receiving a new or updated history from every family in the Town and RM.
The deadline has been extended to NOVEMBER 15th, 2011.
Those that had their family history printed in the 1984 History Book now just need to do an up-date from 1984 to the present.
If submitting pictures please be sure to caption, clearly. DO NOT print on the backs of pictures. Use paper and attach to the backs of pictures. Print names clearly. Pictures say a 1000 words and are a very import and interesting part of a good History Book. Good quality pictures are suggested and if possible copies could be made so we would not have to reture same.
Histories, if possible, should be type-written (double spaced) and emailed or mailed to: Rossburn History Book Committee Box 609 Rossburn, Mb. R0J 1V0
The Committee reserves the right to edit (NOT CHANGE) stories for the purpose of space or repetition.
We do require a $50.00 deposit to help us with our expenses in creating this book. Gift Certificates will be available upon request.

The Town of Rossburn has been given 1200 glass photographic negatives that had been stored in the walls of a studio in a nearby town. The slides show a snapshot of Rossburn during the early 1900's. Some pictures are of the developing town and many are of the early settlers to the area. We have many more than we are able to show here, most with family names. Please contact the Rossburn History Book Committee for more information or copies of any of the pictures. Check it out!
