The English as a Second Language (ESL) and Lifelong Education for Adults: Reading and Numeracy Inc. (LEARN) students in Rossburn enjoyed an active 2010/2011 year.

They took part in activities such as a St. Nicholas visit, Rossburn Elementary School Christmas Concert, tour of the Rossburn Personal Care Home, tour of afarm and a pot luck supper.

These activities were planned as an enrichment to the ESL, General Education Development (GED) and literacy programs which were instructed by Sylvia Shwaluk with assistant Marion Antoniw (ESL) and by Eva Vanscoy (LEARN).

Nurse Practitioner Sandi Hallam and the Mayor of Rossburn, Shirley Kalyniuk, have each visited the class. They gave inspiring reports on their respective roles in the community and provided the group with information that was particularly useful for people new to our community.

A recognition evening was held for the ESL and LEARN students on May 26.
